"George Bernard Shaw once said 'There is no love sincerer than the love of food'
and there is no restaurant that better exemplifies this alimentary devotion than Flâneur." Extract taken from www.franceinlondon.com
A Flâneur is someone who strolls in arcades, shops in the market and
hangs out in cafés.
Traditionally in the Paris markets of 18th & 19th century, rich people who didn't need to work but needed to show off their wealth would head for the markets and idlely stroll around without worry. A sign of just how much time you had to idle around used to be sometimes seen by people having a tortoise on a lead!
We have brought this concept back by filling our shelves with artisanal & fine foods, so bringing the essence of the "Flâneur" to Farringdon.
